New Oregon Pinot Noir: Artisanal Wine Cellars

Artisanal Wine Cellars

2005 Pinot Noir Adams Vineyard

I never had tried this wine before owning Garrison’s Fine Wines. Even when Tom arrived with the wines I approached them with hesitation. Yet, my first impression was very positive. Thinking about how ripe the fruit was, along with having nice earthy aroma to the wine. Adams Vineyard was originally planted in the 1970s with some areas being replanted. Drinking window now-2012.

Robert Foley Vineyards Merlot

2005 Merlot

Years ago Robert Foley made Pride Vineyards famous. In Portland, there has been a cult following for his wines for many years. The wines he has made have received scores as high as 99 points. After 30 years of wine making Robert Foley has released a Merlot under his own label. The wine is round and rich with a silky tannin layer than just develops over the time. Drinking window now-2015.
