Equipo Navazos La Bota #12

Equipo Navazos was the creation of a group of Sherry lovers.  Initially these wines were only intended for friends throughout the world.  The first release was a scarce 600 bottles of a selection of 20 year old Amontillado that was found on a visit to an antique Bodega in Sanlucar.  The wines are bottled under the title La Bota, the cask of Equipo Navazos.  The first three releases were done privately and then the bottling started making their way to the public through certain distributors.  The wines are bottled in successive numbered editions, showing the dates of the saca (withdrawal date for bottling).  This will allow the comparison over time of different releases from the same Solera. 

La Bota #12 is a limited release of 1400 bottles or just under 120 cases.  The wine is marked with a withdrawal (saca) date of February 2008.  The PX was selected from Bodegas Perez Barquero in Montilla.  This wine also could be compared to the La Bota #3, a similar bottling from October 2006 from Bodegas Perez Barquero (a limited 900 bottle release).

This wine is only produced in select years and is a perfect wine for any special occasion or collector’s cellar.  Only 3873 bottles produced (<325 cases).  In about 30 years only 7 vintages of the Riserva have been made.
